Rich Eisen believes Dallas Cowboys should target DK Metcalf trade

NFL expert Rich Eisen is known for making a hot take or two. And on a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, he shared one that many Dallas Cowboys friends would love to see come true.
The NFL analyst has been critical of Dallas’s moves this offseason and has even been quoted saying that “Dallas has taken a step back.” However, if the Cowboys want to take a huge step forward, Eisen believes they should target Seattle Seahawks disgruntled receiver, DK Metcalf.
“Dallas should be on the phone with Seattle right now. How huge would DK Metcalf be with the star on the side of his helmet,” said Eisen.
While much has been made about another NFC West receiver, Deebo Samuel, being dissatisfied with his team, Metcalf was the only one of the two who did not show up for mandatory training camp. And according to Eisen, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones knows exactly what to do in these situations.
“DK Metcalf on the Dallas Cowboys is exactly the play that Jerry Jones would make, exactly the play that Jerry Jones is built to make, exactly the play the Dallas Cowboys used to do before Jerry started getting people with a little bit more of a long-term approach talking. This is exactly the sort of stuff, he’s the one who went and traded for him Amari Cooper and gave up those picks. He’s the one that has made maneuvers just like this. Jerry says that he wants to win, while he can.”

If there is one thing Jones is a fan of, it is a star wide receiver representing the star in Dallas. Aside from trading for Cooper, the Cowboys owner pushed for the Cowboys to draft Ceedee Lamb in 2020. And even in the years when others wanted to take a long-term approach, Jones has brought in higher-profile names such as Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens.
The Cowboys are looking to capture their seventh Super Bowl in franchise history and fourth with Jerry Jones as the owner.
“As we all know he said that he told the good Lord before that winning that third Super Bowl, that if he won that one, he wouldn’t ask for another, and he wants to now redo that negotiation; redo that deal. This is the deal to help renegotiate that deal. If it can be made, do it; call them up.”
Jones and the Cowboys will have an opportunity to make the playoffs again this season. They are the odds on favorite to come out of the NCF east. But if a Super Bowl is the goal, then a trade for Metcalf might be in their future.
Eisen closed with a slogan Cowboys fans can get behind, “DK for DAK.”
