Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder reportedly declined to speak before the House Oversight and Reform Committee regarding his various allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace.

An Oversight Committee spokesperson then sent out a statement saying that Snyder had “so far refused to accept” the court-ordered appearance. Now, a spokesperson for Snyder is refuting the claim.

“Mr. Snyder has not refused to appear for a deposition,” the spokesperson wrote. “The Committee offered only one date – June 30 – and Mr. Snyder’s attorney is out of the country and unavailable on that date. Mr. Snyder’s lawyer has provided alternative dates to the Committee and looks forward to finding a path forward for Mr. Snyder’s further cooperation and to address remaining due process concerns.

Based on what the spokesperson said, it seems Snyder is willing to testify, the dates for everyone involves must align before the trial is concluded.

NFL owners are counting votes towards removing Dan Snyder as owner

Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder has caused the NFL headache after headache over the past few years. It’s been scandal after scandal. Well, it turns out, NFL owners might be finally sick and tired of dealing with his near endless list of problemsand they are “counting votes” towards potentially removing him as the owner of the Commanders, one team owner told Jarrett Bell of USA Today

Of course, the votes to get rid of Snyder would just be the beginning, not the end of the process. There would likely be an extensive and nasty legal battle between Snyder and the NFL with regards to him selling his business.

The move doesn’t come as a surprise and quite frankly, it’s surprising the group of NFL owners didn’t take action on the Commanders’ owner sooner over the past few years. The league loves to champion how they can discipline players if they tarnish the image of the NFL shield.

Not only was the franchise accused of very serious sexual assault allegations, but more recently, the Commanders were accused of scamming their customers out of an alleged $5 millionOne team owner said of the ticket fraud scheme, “If that happened, I think that’s the nail in the coffin.”
