Steelers release Thursday injury report ahead of Dolphins game

The Pittsburgh Steelers are dealing with injuries at some crucial positions ahead of their Sunday Night game in Miami this coming weekend. But as many already know, the Dolphins are also dealing with injuries to key players. So both teams are a bit banged up heading into the matchup.
Thursday, Pittsburgh released its injury report from the day of practice. The first part dealt with rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett, who suffered a concussion a week ago. Here’s what the report said on him:
“The Steelers continued their preparation for Sunday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins and quarterback Kenny Pickett continues to be a full participant.
“Pickett is in the concussion protocol following Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but is able to practice this week.”
Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada also added: “Everything’s been all clear and all go, so we’re functioning that way. We’re just taking the normal steps you would take in this situation.”

So, Pickett is practicing and plans to play vs. the Dolphins.
TE Pat Freiermuth also participates
The crafty second-season tight end was out in the win over the Bucs with a concussion, but appears to be on track to return vs. the Dolphins. The team report gave a promising update for Freiermuth:
“Tight end Pat Freiermuth was also a full participant for the second day. Freiermuth missed the Bucs game in the concussion protocol and his presence will make a difference this week.”
Fully healthy everywhere else
Aside from Freiermuth and Pickett with their concussion protocols, the rest of the Steelers roster is healthy and practicing at full tilt right now. So, with a prime time matchup against a hobbled Miami club, perhaps a healthier Pittsburgh group and steal the win and get closer to .500 with a 3-4 record. Staying healthy and locking down a victory would be a giant step for the Steelers this week.
