Survivor of fiery car crash thanks Vikings WR KJ Osborn, others who helped him

It was a small act from Minnesota Vikings wide receiver KJ Osborn that’s reverberating in big ways. After Osborn and a group of other people on scene helped a man from a fiery car crash earlier this month, he publicly offered his thanks to the group.

Nelson Thomas, the man who Osborn and others helped, posted on Tuesday several photos of his various wounds that have been sutured since the Mar. 5 accident and offered his thanks to the people who helped him.

“I was involved in a car accident. I want to thank [KJ Osborn] for being on the scene and filming my rescue. I am forever grateful to Abdulmejied Hairedin, [Rita] and [Arthur],” Thomas wrote.

Osborn grew into a bigger role in the Vikings passing attack in 2022-23, serving as a changeup option off of All-Pro teammate Justin Jefferson. But more than anything Osborn did on the field last season — or will do in the future — what he and some others did for Thomas on Mar. 5 is more meaningful than any amount of touchdowns or receiving yards.

Osborn and three other good samaritans put their lives on the line to save a man from a burning car Sunday night, the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver revealed via social media.

“Most of the time the saying goes ‘wrong place wrong time,’” Osborn tweeted. “But this time I believe God had me, us, at the right place at the exact right time. Last night, myself and these 3 absolute heroes helped save a man’s life by rescuing him from a vehicle up in flames after a bad crash. A situation I’d never imagine being a part of in a million years.

“I’ll leave you with this. God is real. And His LOVE is real. He will send his angels to be camped around you and provide you with his grace and mercy.”
