Report: Taylor Swift to headline 2023 Super Bowl halftime show

Taylor Swift is reportedly going to headline the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, according to Variety. The outlet reported that three sources “close to the situation” claim Swift will headline for Super Bowl 57 in February. Super Bowl LVII will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Variety has not yet received comment or confirmation from Swift’s reps, Roc Nation or the NFL.
The outlet also reports that Swift’s performance at the Super Bowl could be due to the game’s new partnership with Apple Music.
“A less-obvious reason lies in the Apple Music announcement — or, rather, the fact that Pepsi announced that it would not renew its ten-year-long sponsorship of the Halftime show this year,” Variety’s Jem Aswad writes. “The sponsorship began in 2013 — the same year that Swift launched a long partnership with Pepsi’s decades-long arch-rival Coca-Cola. While sources reported that Swift’s deal with Coke prohibited her from playing a Pepsi-sponsored Halftime show, whether or not it did, it would have been awkward.”

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show featured a slew of performers, and it’s likely that Swift won’t do the whole performance alone. Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent all took the stage in what was hailed as a show tailor-made for millennials.
