Nissan Stadium became the home of the Tennessee Titans during the 1999 season two years after the franchise moved from Houston to Nashville. A total of 189 NFL games have been played there, hosting some of the most famous moments in Titans history.

However, Tennessee will be getting a new stadium within the near future. In fact, the first conceptual design for their new was revealed on Friday, with the Tennessean obtaining the photos. As most brand new NFL Stadiums have been over the past decade, it appears to be an indoor facility with a modern look.

According to Front Office Sports, the new stadium will cost nearly $2 billion and will be ready for the 2026 NFL season.

You can check out the design below.

If the timeline remains consistent, the Titans will have just four more seasons inside of Nissan Stadium. Their longtime home has been kind to the franchise, having a winning record when playing at Nissan Stadium, going 100-76 in the regular season. Dating back to the 1999 and 2000 seasons, Tennessee won their first 13 games before losing in early November. Playing against the Kansas City Chiefs this season, the Titans had its record attendance with 69,484 there.

As for the playoffs, Tennessee has only hosted five games at Nissan Stadium. The latest came this past season, playing the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round. A loss pushed the Titans to a losing record at home in the playoffs, falling to 2-3 all time.

Nissan Stadium is home to more than just the Titans, though. College football FCS program, the Tennessee State Tigers, play there on Saturdays, while the Nashville Sound of the MLS calls it home as well. Both the United State Men’s and Women’s National Teams will host big games. Even when the NFL franchise moves out, Nissan Stadium will still have high-level sports wanting to play there.

However, a newly improved and updated stadium seems to be on the way. Getting a conceptual design out there is just the first step.
