The Florida Gators are midway through their summer official visit schedule. So far, the Florida staff has welcomed a total of 23 recruits between two visit weekends. The Gators still have two busy weekends coming up, as well as their recruiting cookout before the month ends. This past weekend, Florida brought in an impressive 16 prospects to campus for official visits. One of those names in town was Brunswick (GA) 4-star tight end Heze Kent.

His sister, ZaNaria Williams, documented the trip and shared it over social media to give an inside look at what took place on Kent’s official visit. You can watch a detailed look at the official visit below.

The Florida Gators are a contender for Kent

Kent has visited the Florida Gators numerous times since the coaching staff extended him an offer after their spring football game in 2023. It’s only right that the Gators get the first offical visit from the talented 4-star prospect. Offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Russ Callaway has been the lead contact in Gainesville for Kent. The two have built a strong connection with one another. Kent also views the Florida Gators assistant who would be coaching him, also involved in the play calling scheme as a positive.

“Russ being the OC, that helps the tight ends get involved in the offense,” Kent told Gators Online last month. “Florida is just a good place,” said Kent. “It’s just a cool vibe there. You can just chill and go out. If you got homework, you can sit down at different places and do anything. It’s just a cool place to be at.”

He’s a jumbo athlete at 6-foot-6, 305 pounds, but is being recruited as a tight end by the Florida Gators and others. Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, and Texas are his finalists ahead of a July 12 commitment date. Each of these finalists is courting him to play tight end.

“Everybody that’s in my top schools, I told them, ‘You can stop recruiting me if you want me to play another position.’ Everybody I put in my top schools wants me to play tight end.”

The On3 Industry, a weighted average of the four major recruiting services, ranks Kent as the nation’s No. 258 Overall player.
