Michigan landed a big commitment on Wednesday afternoon as On300 Needham (Mass.) St. Sebastian’s offensive lineman Marky Walbridge gave the Wolverines a verbal pledge.

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland breaks down Walbridge’s game in the video at the end of this story.

Walbridge Recruitment

Michigan offered Walbridge all the way back in January of 2023.

The Wolverines made Walbridge a top priority for more than a year with Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsome making multiple trips to New England to see him. Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore also played a big role in Michigan winning over Walbridge.

Walbridge committed to Michigan over fellow finalists Alabama, Boston College and Penn State.

Here is what Holland had to say about Walbridge.

“Walbridge is listed as an interior offensive lineman, but Michigan really made him a priority as a tackle,” Holland said. “Walbridge can definitely start inside and work his way out. He brings plenty of versatility and is already well-filled-out in his upper half. I’m really excited to get an updated evaluation of Walbridge after seeing him live at his spring showcase last year.”

At 6-foot-5.5, 285 pounds, Walbridge is ranked as the No. 16 interior offensive lineman and No. 235 overall recruit nationally, per On3. He is also ranked as the No. 2 overall recruit in the state of Massachusetts.

Michigan now has 15 commits in its 2026 recruiting class — Walbridge, Top 100 St. Louis (Mo.) DeSmet defensive lineman Titan Davis, Top 100 Billings (Mont.) West tight end Matt Ludwig, Top 100 Newberry Park (Calif.) High quarterback Brady Smigiel, On300 Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin cornerback Brody Jennings, On300 Chicago (Ill.)
