Scruggs Recruitment
Michigan extended an offer to Scruggs last June when he made his way to Ann Arbor for one of the Wolverines’ on-campus summer camps.
Scruggs impressed Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome en route to being named camp OL MVP. Scruggs returned for an unofficial visit in the fall when Michigan took on rival Michigan State and was back again this spring.
Now, Scruggs is set to make an official visit to Michigan on June 6.
Here is what Holland had to say about his recruitment.
“Scruggs is listed as an interior offensive lineman, but Michigan has been recruiting him as more of a tackle,” Holland said. “I think he’s a guy who can start inside and work his way out. Scruggs has improved his frame as well as his athleticism and feet. In terms of his recruitment, Michigan is right in the mix. He’s visited Michigan on several occasions and will be back for his official visit in June. However, Michigan does face tough competition from Georgia, Penn State, Clemson and a few other programs. He told me he is going to make his decision at some point this summer.”
Scruggs is set to see Clemson this weekend and will visit Penn State and Georgia after his trip to Michigan.
