Perhaps no other NASCAR organization has undergone as much change as Spire Motorsports between this time last year and now. Two new drivers, a third chartered car, buying Kyle Busch Motorsports, and moving into the facility – even bringing on Doug Duchardt as new team President.

Spire Motorsports has gone from the small, underdog team to a group expanding exponentially and becoming the new hot name in the Cup Series.

To go from Corey LaJoie and Ty Dillon to LaJoie, Carson Hocevar, and Zane Smith – that’s major.

With these big changes come big expectations in the New Year.

Spire Motorsports Resolutions:
– Win Rookie of the Year
– Win a race
– Make the playoffs with at least one driver
– Give Corey LaJoie the tools to succeed

Two of the three rookies in the Cup Series will be on the Spire Motorsports roster in 2024. Earning Rookie of the Year has to be a top goal. Winning a race is right after that as well as making the postseason.

However, I want to see Spire put all of their effort behind Corey LaJoie. This is a driver who has dedicated himself to this organization and now that the team is growing, it is time to reward him. Pit stops have been a major issue for Spire in recent years, as well as qualifying. Give LaJoie what he needs to compete and show off his talent.

Spire Motorsports Driver Resolutions

While Spire Motorsports has three drivers, we have already talked about Zane Smith and his goals with the Trackhouse Racing group. That is who he is signed to and what his car font number reflects.

For LaJoie and Hocevar, 2024 could be a huge year full of success. It can also be a long grind that leaves them wondering what happened.

Carson Hocevar Resolutions:
– Win Rookie of the Year
– Win a race
– Earn the respect of the Cup garage
– Prove you belong in the Cup Series

For the young rookie, there are a few goals this season. He has to earn respect for one. Hocevar has an image issue with his on-track antics. He has to shake that if he wants to succeed at all.

Hocevar will attempt to win Rookie of the Year and in the process pick up a win. He will need to stay consistent and keep his nose clean to prove he belongs at Spire Motorsports and in the Cup Series.

Corey LaJoie Resolutions:
– Win a race
– Become the leader for Spire
– Make the Playoffs
– Finish in the top 20 in points

Last season, LaJoie had a season-best finish in points. That was in part due to his 0 DNFs on the year, an impressive feat in and of itself. Winning a race would go a long way to solidifying Spire and LaJoie in the Cup Series.

A top-20 finish in the points would be massive for Spire Motorsports. LaJoie has been the big “what if?” for a long time, now it is time to put up or shut up.
