During Tokyo Olympic games in 2021, the United States won 113 total medals. Four years later, they’re about to pass that mark at the 2024 Paris Olympics with time to spare.

The U.S. enters the final weekend of games with 111 total medals, nearly 30 more than the next highest total. That figure includes 33 gold medals, which sits tied with China for the top spot with two days to go.

One of the highlights of Friday’s action for the U.S. came in the 4×100-meter relay, which saw Sha’Carri Richardson use a late surge to bring home a gold medal in the event. All told, three Americans won gold with more opportunities over the final two days. Here’s where things stand in the updated medal count.

2024 Paris Olympics: Medal Count after Day 14

1. United States: 33 gold, 39 silver, 39 bronze (111 total)
2. People’s Republic of China: 33 gold, 27 silver, 23 bronze (83)
3. Australia: 18 gold, 16 silver, 14 bronze (48)
4. Japan: 16 gold, 8 silver, 13 bronze (37)
5. Great Britain: 14 gold, 20 silver, 23 bronze (57)
6. France: 14 gold, 20 silver, 22 bronze (56)
7. Netherlands: 13 gold, 6 silver, 10 bronze (29)
8. Republic of Korea: 13 gold, 8 silver, 7 bronze (28)
9. Germany: 12 gold, 9 silver, 8 bronze (29)
10. Italy: 11 gold, 12 silver, 13 bronze (36)

The team of Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Gabby Thomas and Richardson came out on top in the 4x100m relay final on Friday with a time of 41.78 seconds. Great Britain finished second – as seen in the now-iconic image of Richardson staring down her fellow anchor runner – and Germany rounded out the podium with the bronze medal.

That showing was one of three gold medals on the day for the United States, including one at the same time as the 4×100-meter relay. In weightlifting, American Olivia Reeves took the top spot, followed by Colombia’s Mari Levis Sanchez with silver and Ecuador’s Angie Paola Palacios Dajomes taking home bronze.

Finally, the U.S. brought home its 11th athletics gold medal with a huge showing from Rai Benjamin in the 400-meter hurdle. He led the charge with a time of 46.46 seconds while Norway’s Karsten Warholm finished right behind him at 47.06 to lock up a silver medal. Brazil’s Alison dos Santos finished third at 47.26 and brought home the bronze.

That sets the table for what should be a thrilling last two days of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The closing ceremonies will be at the end of Sunday’s action on Aug. 11.
