Aaron Rodgers injury update: Steelers QB shares status of injured wrist ahead of Bears matchup

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers just revealed an update on the injured wrist ahead of the team’s Week 12 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Rodgers did not practice on Wednesday but told reporters that he was going to try to practice on Thursday.
According to Brooke Pyror of ESPN, Rodgers said his ability to play on Sunday will come down to “safety” with his injury. The four-time NFL MVP also said that the timeline on determining his status will be up to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
Aaron Rodgers suffered a fractured left wrist during the second quarter of the Steelers’ 34-12 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. He doesn’t need surgery and hasn’t been ruled out for the Bears game.
Speaking of the Bears, reporters asked Rodgers if there was any extra incentive to play on Sunday since he has had a lot of success against Chicago. “There’s incentive for every opponent, but I have enjoyed many a Sunday and Monday, and Thursdays in that city,” he said. “It’s a great sports town, phenomenal sports fans, and great place to play.”

Bears fans considered Rodgers a villain during his time with the Packers. But do they still feel that way about him now? “I’d rather not be, I mean, I’m not in Green Bay anymore,” Rodgers said. “I feel like we can let bygones be bygones. Maybe I can.”
If Rodgers can’t go on Sunday, Mason Rudolph will be QB1 for the Steelers. When Rudolph took over for Rodgers against the Bengals, he completed 12 of his 16 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown.
“Mason has proven in the past what he showed today,” Tomlin said after the game, per Teresa Varley of Steelers.com. “That’s why we value him as a member of this collective. Appreciative of his play. He’s always delivered when called upon in the past. That’s why we value him. His performance was consistent with what he’s done in the past for us. Not that we take it for granted. We don’t. We appreciate it.
