Aaron Rodgers no longer using crutches, still walking with a limp

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not used crutches since prior to the Jets’ game versus the Philadelphia Eagles on October 15, he told the crew Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show. However, he did say he is still walking with a limp.
“I’m not walking without a limp yet,” Rodgers said on his weekly appearance on the ESPN program. “I was joking with with my rehab folks and with doc, when I was flying back for the game on the 15th, I had assumed that I had left my crutches in the car. By the time I got to the airport, there were no crashes in the car. I felt like that was kind of a sign that okay, you’re done with the crutches. So I haven’t been on crutches since that day.
“But I don’t quite have the strength in my calf to be able to walk without a limp yet. Based on normal timetables, I have to have some perspective here because I’m not on a normal protocol. However, I’m competitive, and I want to be walking without a limb. There’s some frustration when you’re not quite all the way there yet.”

Rodgers threw the football around on the field prior to that game, which he called a special moment.
The former NFL MVP has been very aggressive in his recovery in the hopes of making it back to the field before the end of the season. Whether that is possible remains to be seen.
He did tell The Pat McAfee Show that this last week of rehab has been much more of a grind.
“It’s been a tough week of rehab. It’s been kind if smaller gains,” Rodgers said. “I think when you get to a certain point, you’re not maybe having the jumps, that I did early on. You’re out of the boot, then you’re in the shoe. … It’s been more of a grind in the last week or so, but a lot of good things, we’re training towards.”
