Aaron Rodgers was a hot topic this offseason for a variety of reasons.

Multiple reports stated the Packers’ quarterback had a strained relationship with the Green Bay decision makers, including general manager Brian Gutekunst.

On Tuesday just before the NFL trade deadline, Rodgers opened up about his current relationship with the Packers’ brass.

“Well, I’m not going to get into specifics, but I will say there has been great communication,” Rodgers said. “I’ve enjoyed the conversations with Brian that we’ve had throughout the year so far.”

One of Rodgers major issues he addressed in the press conference when he returned to Green Bay was that he felt like other veteran franchise quarterbacks throughout the league were involved in key personnel decisions and that hadn’t been the case for him with the Packers brass.

In regards to the moves the team has made this year, the Green Bay quarterback is pleased.

“I think we have made some moves already that have been great,” Aaron Rodgers added. “Obviously Rasul Douglas, the hero of the game. Whitney Mercilus, love that addition as well.”

Though he didn’t say it directly, Rodgers sounds like a guy that has absolutely been involved in key decision-making during the 2021 campaign.

It appears Gutekunst heard their franchise quarterback’s message this offseason and have adapted their plans to make him feel valued.

Aaron Rodgers optimistic key Packers set to return from injury

While Rodgers was discussing the various personnel moves the Packers have been forced to make due to key injuries, he also provided optimism around the return of several Packers’ starters.

McAffe and his crew asked the Green Bay signal caller specifically about his left tackle and good friend David Bakhtiari, and Aaron Rodgers provided a hilarious response while noting the Packers’ big man should be back in the lineup sooner rather than later.

Still, Rodgers went the extra step to individually name the players who have stepped up in Bakhtiari’s absence.

“In the meantime, I’m going to take this opportunity again to highlight the way the line has played. Elgton Jenkins at left tackle, going against Chandler Jones, who is a premier pass rusher. And Billy Turner because Chandler was going on both sides…both of those guys have played really, really well. I’m proud of them.,” Aaron Rodgers said.

The Packers quarterback didn’t stop there.

“Inside, I think our guys have held up and improved,” Rodgers said. “Jon Runyan, Royce Newman and Lucus Patrick at center. Again, Josh Myers, our starting center has been out for a number of weeks now, and Lucus has stepped in and played very well for us. I think Royce and Jon have been improving and playing well, too.”

Aaron Rodgers is out for at least the Packers’ next game due to COVID protocols, but he seems like he’s genuinely happy in Green Bay for the first time in a long time.
