Adam Schefter reacts to Lamar Jackson's scrap with Buffalo Bills fan, predicts potential punishment from NFL

After throwing a touchdown pass late in the third quarter of Ravens vs. Bills, QB Lamar Jackson got into it with a fan who touched him as he shoved back. However, that interaction likely won’t lead to more than a discussion about it from the NFL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
On ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Monday, Schefter shared his thoughts on Jackson’s shove towards the Bills fan during the matchup on Sunday Night Football. He said that he doesn’t think there should be any punishment for Jackson from this while he does say that the Bills should handle that matter with their fan, who was ejected last night and has since been indefinitely banned from all league games per Schefter. But, from there, Schefter does expect, with the recent emphasis on sportsmanship, that the National Football League uses this as an opportunity to remind players of that when it comes to the fans too.
“I think it provides a good time for the league to remind players not to touch the fans. But, clearly, the Bills should be taking action against that particular fan because no fan should ever be allowed to touch a player. They shouldn’t be close enough to do that,” Schefter said. “I don’t think Lamar was right for doing it. I understand why he did it, but, to me, there shouldn’t be any discipline involved here.”
“Everybody’s gotta keep their hands to themselves,” said Schefter. “To me, this would be a time for the league to send out a warning reminding players not to get involved with fans if they can.”
Jackson finished the opening loss with another great performance as he was 14-19 (73.7%) for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 70 yards and a score. However, since the Ravens did lose, this interaction is about all anyone is mentioning right now as far as Jackson’s night after he pushed the person following his touchdown throw on a one-handed grab by WR DeAndre Hopkins.

“I forgot where I was a little bit,” Jackson said postgame, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “You’ve got to think in those situations. I’ll learn from that.”
This wasn’t the best look for the fans in Orchard Park or for Jackson in taking exception to it in that way. That said, Schefter doesn’t expect anything more to come from this than an example for a continued separation from the players on the field and the fans in the stands.
Report: Fan who shoved DeAndre Hopkins, pushed by Lamar Jackson, banned ‘indefinitely’
The Bills fan who was pushed by Lamar Jackson after shoving DeAndre Hopkins on Sunday night has been banned from the Bills’ and NFL stadiums, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He was also ejected Sunday night following the incident.
“The fan who shoved Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins, and then got shoved by QB Lamar Jackson, has been ‘indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL stadiums,’ per a team official,” Schefter wrote on Twitter/X. “The fan had been ejected after the shove Sunday night.”
