When you’ve made almost $300 million in your pro basketball career, there aren’t a whole lot of things that people can get you that would genuinely draw a reaction. But there are a few, and Al Horford will be the first to tell you.

Horford took to his Instagram account on Tuesday to reveal a gift he received from teammate Jayson Tatum. Brand new kicks.

And not just any kicks, but a custom edition of the Jordan Tatum 3. The shoes are in Horford’s college colors, the famous orange and blue of Florida. It features the famous Gators logo on the tongue of the left shoe, with the JT logo on the tongue of the right.

You can check out the kicks below. Horford included a simple thank you message to Tatum.

The kicks, obviously, are custom made. They’re not available for just any old fan. So Al Horford will certainly cherish them.

The big man is in the tail end of his NBA career, playing with the Celtics, but he’s still got some juice left in the tank. Horford is averaging 8.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game — both career lows — but most importantly he has appeared in 50 games so far this season.

He’s been reliable as an option in the lineup, which is more than you can say for most 38-year-olds in the league. So how long might Al Horford continue to play?

“For me … I’ve never put a limit of how long I’m gonna play, so I feel good and very fortunate to be in the position,” Horford said back in September, before the season began. “To be in this position, to be able to continue to play and be on this team. It’s been a lot of years that we’ve been fighting to get to this point, and now that we’re here, I’m just fortunate to be here to wear this Celtics uniform. I’m just gonna keep playing, and that’s what that is.”

The accolades speak for themselves. Al Horford is quite decorated.

The former two-time national champion with the Gators has been an NBA champion, a five-time NBA All-Star and has scored almost 15,000 points in the league.

Prior to that he was a superstar at Florida, where he helped the Gators win a pair of national championships. Horford was named a second-team All-American during the team’s second title run.
