Alex Bowman announces engagement to Chloe Henderson after unique proposal

After a strong season in the NASCAR Cup Series, life is getting a little bit better for Alex Bowman. It’s also about to change in a big way.

On Sunday evening, Bowman posted a pair of pictures to his Instagram account with the caption “Did a thing.” The photo you need to know about? It featured Bowman on a knee proposing to girlfriend Chloe Henderson.

She said yes, as the next picture of the two shows Henderson sporting the ring. The couple even had their two dogs present for the big event.

Could there be more in the works, too? Viewers will notice the backdrop for the proposal is rather nondescript. There are some nearby woods, but there is a ton of red clay in the shot… it certainly appears to be a construction site. Perhaps a new family home for Alex Bowman and his bride to be?

Dozens of prominent people in the NASCAR community were quick to reach out with their congratulations. “Congratulations!!” wrote Hendrick Motorsports. The NASCAR Instagram account commented with three heart emojis.

A big day for Alex Bowman, to be sure. But given his career trajectory, there are likely more of those to come.

Alex Bowman showing more consistency

On the track, things have been on the upswing for Alex Bowman over the last two years. After earning a win at Chicago in 2024 and finishing a career-best ninth in the Cup Series standings that year, Bowman showed improved consistency in 2025.

He didn’t win a race but sat on the pole twice, at Homestead-Miami and at Bristol. During the season, Bowman put together six top-five finishes and 16 top-10 results.

Alex Bowman would finish 13th in the Cup Series standings, which was his fourth best season at the top level. He finished sixth in 2020, ninth in 2024 and 12th in 2019.

Now, newly engaged, he’ll be looking to build on that in 2026. Plenty of excitement to be had.
