The Cinderella Story of the NASCAR In-Season Tournament continues. This week, it is Ty Dillon against Alex Bowman. Sonoma Raceway will determine which of these two drivers advances to the final four next week at Dover.

There is still a chance that Ty Dillon could win the $1,000,000 prize in Indianapolis. So far, Dillon has eliminated Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski. Now, he turns his attention to Alex Bowman.

The two drivers had a brief face-off ahead of today’s race on TNT. Dillon had more trash talk for his opponent.

“I saw it. I started early this week, talking to Bubba, just making sure Bubba was aware of the situation,” Dillon said. “So, uh, no, it’s been a lot of fun, man. We’re having fun with this bracket and I know Alex is going to be the toughest one probably yet here. He’s solid on these road courses and we’re going to give him hell, give him all we can, and see how it shakes out.”

Alex Bowman responded. The Hendrick Motorsports social media pages posted a graphic saying Cinderella’s story is over. Is that true? And Bowman wants to hear what one-liner Dillon has in store for him in case he bests him today.

“Yeah, the Hendrick social team got after it on that one, I guess. But looking forward to this, I love road course racing,” Bowman said. “We weren’t that great yesterday with our Ally 48 Chevy, but hopefully, we’re better today. And beyond that, I was talking to Ty backstage, he’s had a good one-liner for everybody. So if he beats me, I’m going to like run to the TV because I’ve got to know what his one-liner is. And if he doesn’t beat me, I’m going to force him to tell me what it is anyway. Because I just want to know they’ve been so good. But yeah, the bracket challenge has been a lot of fun. Yeah, I don’t have anything else.”

So, it’s a showdown in Sonoma for Alex Bowman and Ty Dillon. Dillon entered this bracket as the last seed. He now has a chance to advance to the semifinal round and get one step closer to the $1,000,000 prize. After what we have seen so far in the challenge, anything is possible.

This will not be an easy task for Dillon. He starts back in P26. Meanwhile, Bowman will fire off P9 overall. You don’t want to say he can’t do it, because the No. 10 team has managed to pull it off for two weeks now, but it will likely be the most difficult race Dillon’s had in the challenge so far.
