Today, ahead of the Kansas playoff race, Alexa Reddick is asking the NASCAR world to pray for her and Tyler Reddick’s son, Rookie. Unfortunately, Rookie, who is just a few months old, is in the hospital with a heart issue.

Alexa Reddick posted on her Instagram page about the struggles that the family has been going through recently. Rookie is in the hospital at Levine Children’s in the cardiovascular ICO. Alexa says that Rookie is experiencing signs of heart failure.

“After a run around for months with the pediatrician office I knew what was going on was something bigger. Always trust your mom gut,” Alexa Reddick wrote on Instagram. “Our sweet Rookie was showing signs of heart failure that were being missed. Please please pray for this sweet guy that God heals his heart. With God, Rookie, and his amazing doctors here at Levine’s I believe He can. We are in the cardiovascular ICU while we get some answers and work on improving heart function. I usually don’t share our personal lives but I’m hoping you take the time to pray for him today.”

Tyler Reddick is at Kansas Speedway, and he will race today. There has been no word about a backup driver or anything else. It appears that he will remain in Kansas to race the weekend out.

Rookie Reddick was born earlier this year. Tyler and Alexa Reddick have an older son, Beau, who is five. The Reddick family has shared many special moments together in front of the NASCAR world. Earlier in Tyler’s career, the couple made a bet about what they would name Beau. Winning that 2019 Xfinity Series championship gave Tyler the win in that bet.

Today’s post from Alexa Reddick has quickly caught the attention of NASCAR fans. There has been an outpouring of support from fans throughout the sport. Times like this show how tight-knit and close the racing community is and can be.

Of course, Tyler Reddick has a job to do today. No parent would want to be in this position. This is the most important part of the season for these NASCAR Playoffs teams. But there are things bigger than racing, and family is number one on that list. He will be racing, but clearly, there are more important things going on behind the scenes.

Reddick qualified P12 on Saturday for today’s Cup Series race. It appears that Toyota has that speed once again at Kansas. Can they capitalize on it?
