New Orleans Saints two-time All-Pro running back Alvin Kamara, who is currently listed as questionable, is expected to play on Sunday against the New England Patriots. ESPN‘s Adam Schefter broke the news Saturday afternoon.

Kamara has played in all five of New Orleans’ games this season, but has been dealing with an ankle injury. He boasts 283 rushing yards and one touchdown on 73 carries this season.

The ninth-year running back, who has spent his entire career with the New Orleans Saints, has been the subject of trade calls ahead of the looming NFL Trade Deadline. NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport however shut down those rumors on Saturday and revealed that Kamara is likely to stay put in NOLA.

“Sources say Kamara told Saints general manager Mickey Loomis that he’d like to remain with the franchise through the rest of his career, which was the goal when he signed a two-year, $24.5 million extension last October,” Rapoport wrote. “Kamara is signed through 2026 and will have a decision to make prior to next season about if he wants to continue playing.”

Kamara hasn’t quite looked himself this season, as he’s surpassed 50 rushing yards in just two of his five games. His season-high (99) came in New Orleans’ 26-21 to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. The Saints actually lost their first four games of the season before downing the New York Giants 26-14 last weekend. In that game, AK rushed for 27 yards on eight carries.
