Antonio Brown never seems to miss an opportunity to get some attention. Or, if he’s feeling left out, create it out of thin air. The former NFL wide receiver made an interesting announcement via his Twitter account regarding a “partnership” with ESPN.

Saturday, Brown made a vague announcement on social media, tweeting, “Excited to announce my new partnership @espn.” He didn’t provide any other clues or context about this alleged deal with the sports network.

ESPN did not comment on the post, either. So, basically, Twitter took over with multiple theories as to what’s going to happen between the two sides.

Some are anticipating that Brown and ESPN will be working together on a 30 for 30 documentary. Others assumed the former NFL wide receiver just pulled the “partnership” out of thin air in an effort to get some attention.

A majority of social media users find it hard to believe that Brown and ESPN would agree to some sort of deal. But, with absolutely no specifics, it’s impossible to know what the former receiver is hinting at.

We’ll see if there’s more to this alleged partnership between the two parties or if Brown just wanted to create some sort of stir on Twitter … for whatever reason.

ESPN might actually be looking to add another former NFL star

While the internet speculates wildly about Brown’s vague tweet from Saturday, there might actually be some substance to ESPN adding another former NFL star to its talent roster.

After making a number of significant layoffs — which included big names like Jeff Van Gundy, Jalen Rose, David Pollack and others — it’s rumored the network has interest in landing Shannon Sharpe. This comes after the Hall of Fame tight end left his gig on Undisputed on FS1.

Front Office Sports added fuel to the rumors about a relationship between Sharpe and ESPN. The outlet speculated that his personality could get him a job on Monday Night Countdown, succeeding Steve Young. He could also team up in some capacity with Stephen A. Smith.

After all, Smith extended the offer after Sharpe left FS1.

“I don’t know what he’s trying to pursue. I don’t know what he’s after. But if Shannon Sharpe needs me, I’m happy to be here for him. And if that included him wanting to come on First Take, the bosses at ESPN know that is something I would support,” Smith said on the Stephen A. Smith Show.

It’s certainly something to keep an eye on as Sharpe looks for a new media network to call home.
