Antonio Pierce hot seat: Raiders coach addresses future with the team

Antonio Pierce is preparing for the 2025 NFL season and to coach the Las Vegas Raiders, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
“Raiders HC Antonio Pierce says he hasn’t ‘heard anything different’ other than he’s back for 2025,” Garafolo wrote on Twitter. “Says all of that talk is coming from the outside, not the inside.”

The 2024 season was a struggle for Pierce and the Raiders. After starting 2-2, Las Vegas lost the next 10 games before getting wins against the Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints.
Pierce joined the Raiders in 2022 to be the linebackers coach. When the team fired head coach Josh McDaniels halfway through the 2023 season, Pierce was named interim head coach and led the Raiders to a 5-4 record in nine games. In January, the Raiders officially named Pierce the 23rd head coach in franchise history.

Antonio Pierce says he’s staying with Raiders
Raiders offensive lineman Kolton Miller recently shared his thoughts about Pierce with Sports Illustrated.
“I think (Pierce) has really been the glue to hold us together, to not lay down. We come out every week and [try to win],” Miller said. “It is a testament to him and to the team that the attitude we bring each week is, we are trying to win.
“We’re clawing, we’re scraping. We are doing everything we can, even with the bodies down and guys stepping up. The mindset, the approach each week–it would be easy if we laid down and said ‘Oh, yeah. It is what it is. We have these guys out.’ No, we fight each week, and the buy-in is there every week. Trying to get better, trying to get a win.”
