For the first time in his career, Davante Adams is happy to see the word “dropped” next to his name.

An assault charge filed against the NFL wide receiver has been dropped, according to a report from The Kansas City Star. The incident occurred following a Monday Night Football game between the Raiders and Chiefs.

Adams allegedly shoved a credentialed media member following Las Vegas’ 30-29 loss to Kansas City on Oct. 10. The individual, identified as Ryan Zebley, was working for ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast.

The civil case remains pending, per the report. Zebley claims that he suffered whiplash, a headache and potentially a “minor concussion.” He reportedly filed lawsuits against the Chiefs, Raiders, Adams and others.

Following the incident in October, Adams released an apology.

“Before I say anything, I want to apologize to the guy (camera person) running off the field and he ran and jumped in front of me,” Adams said. “I’m coming off the field and I bumped into him and pushed him. I think he ended up on the ground, so I want to say sorry to him because that was just frustration mixed with him running in front of me and I shouldn’t have responded that way and that’s how I initially responded. I want to apologize to him for that.”

Adams additionally sent out a tweet to apologize to Zebley.

“Sorry to the guy I pushed over after the game,” he wrote. “Obviously very frustrated at the way the game ended and when he ran infront of me as I exited that was my reaction and I felt horrible immediately. Thats not me..MY APOLOGIES man hope you see this.”

Josh McDaniels, the head coach of the Raiders, also commented on the situation. He said it was an uncharacteristic act from the star receiver.

“I support Davante wholeheartedly as a human being,” McDaniels. said, per ESPN.com. “As a person, he’s a great guy. I know that was an unfortunate situation. We obviously don’t want any of our guys to be doing anything like that. He knows that. He’s very well aware of that. But I know the person; I don’t think there was any intent behind it, on his part. But whatever [the NFL] asks of us, whatever they need from us, obviously we’ll comply.”

Adams just completed his first season with the Raiders. He totaled 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns on 100 catches.
