Atlanta Falcons reportedly hiring Alabama director of applied science Paul Constantine to strength staff

The Atlanta Falcons added a new strength and conditioning director from the college ranks on Tuesday, reportedly adding Paul Constantine from Alabama, according to Matt Zenitz. Constantine served as Alabama football’s director of applied science.
Constantine has been a member of the Alabama strength and conditioning staff since 2020. Prior to joining the Crimson Tide, he worked on the strength staffs at Indiana, Houston Baptist and Baylor.
His departure also marks another hole to fill on staff for new head coach Kalen DeBoer at Alabama.
Constantine worked with a bevy of future NFL players in his time at Alabama, including 10 first round picks. And while it might seem benign, as new head coach Raheim Morris seeks to build out a staff and culture with the Falcons, having a strength staff in lockstep with the bigger program can pay dividends, because they work as often with the players as anybody.
And at Alabama under Saban, the Crimson Tide were always among the most physically punishing and capable teams in the country, with size and speed all over the field. Constantine and the strength and sports science department played a key role in that facet, and should bring the same smarts and expertise to Atlanta as he makes a move from college into professional football
Alabama moved to fill an OC opening quickly
Alabama is set to promote tight ends coach Nick Sheridan to offensive coordinator, according to BamaOnline’s Charlie Potter.

The former Michigan quarterback aided DeBoer at Washington to unprecedented heights on offense. This move comes after Ryan Grubb elected to go to the NFL.
Now, DeBoer has his right-hand man as his OC should this be the official move.
Sheridan was the tight ends coach at Washington for two years and was also the offensive coordinator at Indiana from 2020-21. Prior to that, he coached QBs and TEs from 2017-19 with the Hoosiers.
Sheridan started his career in 2010 at Saline HS (Mich.) as a QB coach before becoming a grad assistant at Western Kentucky in 2011. He eventually worked in the passing game and with QBs the next season before doing the same at South Florida in 2013.
For 2014-16, Sheridan served as a grad assistant at Tennessee before his time at Indiana.
A former quarterback, Sheridan played with the Michigan Wolverines from 2006-10. He started four games in 2008 and eventually earned his degree in political science in 2010.
