The NBC broadcast shared the latest on Tampa Bay Buccaneers Baker Mayfield, who suffered an injury before halftime against the Los Angeles Rams. Mayfield was shown wearing a sling on his left shoulder, and the Buccaneers ruled him out for the rest of the game.

At the end of the first half, Baker Mayfield was in pain after throwing a Hail Mary pass that was intercepted. The former Oklahoma star stayed down for a significant period of time after the play ended, and Teddy Bridgewater took over for him in the second half.

Mayfield struggled in the Sunday Night Football game, finishing his night with 41 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions on 9-of-19 passes. At halftime, the Rams were leading the Buccaneers 31-7.

Entering the Week 12 game, Mayfield was putting together a strong season. Through 10 games, the 30-year-old has completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 2,365 yards, 17 touchdowns, and three interceptions.

More on Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers

Tampa Bay is in first place in the NFC South but entered Sunday’s game on a two-game losing streak, falling to the New Engalnd Patriots in Week 10 and the Buffalo Bills last week. After the Bills game, Mayfield talked about how the offense improved in the loss.

“I think there was a difference mentally,” Mayfield said, via the team’s official site. “Any time you run the ball like that, guys are locked in — they’re doing their job. That takes everybody, not just the offensive line. Obviously, they played extremely well to run the ball over 200 yards, but I think the message was well-received. We just didn’t make enough plays when we needed to.”

Mayfield added, “I think, without a doubt, the fight, the passion, the energy was there. I think mentally, everybody was locked in. Whether [we] lost focus during the game or just didn’t make the plays — difference there. That’s the mentality we have to come out with starting fast and being physical, especially on offense. I think everybody was bought in on that one.”
