Baltimore Ravens release Justin Tucker amid sexual misconduct allegations

The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday they have released kicker Justin Tucker, bringing his 13-year tenure with the franchise to an end. Tucker’s release comes as the 35-year-old is facing sexual misconduct allegations from multiple massage therapists over the offseason.
“Sometimes football decisions are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances,” Ravens executive vice president and general manager Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Considering our current roster, we have made the tough decision to release Justin Tucker. Justin created many significant and unforgettable moments in Ravens history.
“His reliability, focus, drive, resilience and extraordinary talent made him one of the league’s best kickers for over a decade. We are grateful for Justin’s many contributions while playing for the Ravens. We sincerely wish him and his family the very best in this next chapter of their lives.”
Justin Tucker facing serious allegations
Across eight spas, 16 massage therapists accused Tucker of inappropriate sexual behavior, and he has denied such conduct. The situation is ongoing. However, once the NFL has more information to share about the investigation or potential discipline, Commissioner Roger Goodell said it will do so.
“Yeah, I haven’t gotten an update, but I know the review is ongoing,” Goodell said last month. “We won’t be giving updates but when we have something, we’ll certainly share it with everyone.”
The Baltimore Banner began investigating Tucker’s alleged behavior after receiving a tip on Jan. 9 and spoke with six massage therapists that recounted “troubling firsthand experiences” with Tucker between 2012-16. Since then, 10 more women have come out against Tucker. Tucker released a strong rebuke of The Banner report, calling the allegations “unequivocally false.”
“The allegations in The Baltimore Banner article about me are unequivocally false,” Tucker’s statement released over X read. “Throughout my career as a professional athlete, I have always sought to conduct myself with the utmost professionalism. I have never before been accused of misconduct of any kind. And I have never been accused of acting inappropriately in front of a massage therapist or during a massage therapy session or during other bodywork.

“I have never received any complaints from a massage therapist, have never been dismissed from a massage therapy or bodywork session, and have never been told that I was not welcome at any spa or other place of business.”
Ravens move on from Justin Tucker after drafting replacement
Tucker is the most accurate kicker in league history, owning a career 89.1% field goal percentage. The five-time All-Pro is coming off the worst season of his career. Tucker converted 22-of-30 field goal attempts (73.3%).
The Ravens selected former Arizona kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Head coach John Harbaugh said Sunday at rookie minicamp that the decision of who would be the team’s kicker in 2025 would be “based on football.”
“I would just say from the standpoint of the investigation and all that, we don’t know anything,” Harbaugh said. “We haven’t been given any information, as it should be. It’s all done the way it’s done. So, we don’t know anything along those lines, so you can’t make any decisions based on that.
“Every decision we make has to be based on football. There’s a lot of layers to that. You’ve got a rookie kicker in here. We took him in the sixth round, early in the sixth round. He’s a talented guy. Just from a football standpoint, salary cap, all the different things that you just take into consideration — whatever we decide to do over the next few weeks would be based on football.”
