Bo Nix details why it was important to play in Senior Bowl after extensive college career

Bo Nix is the most experienced quarterback prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft, having started an NCAA record 61 games during his collegiate career.
But rather than prepare for April’s NFL Draft on his own, Nix decided he’d give it a try at No. 62. No, this one won’t count towards his official tally, but Nix’s performance at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, this week will go a long way in determining his draft stock.
Most of all, it’s another opportunity for him to get his name on the minds of talent evaluators for all 32 teams.
“Well, I thought it just was important to get in front of some people and make relationships,” Nix said on NFL Network. “It was another chance, another opportunity to go out there and play football, which I love doing. Another chance to grow and learn. We were filled with scheme this week, so I’m learning a new offense and learning how to attack a defense again. Also to be around Michael and Sam and the rest of the quarterbacks here, like I said compete against great competition at practice, high-level talent and just speed up the game for me.”

Bo Nix rising up draft boards after impressive 2023 season
After three years of quarterbacking at Auburn, Nix transferred to Oregon ahead of the 2022 season. Under head coach Dan Lanning, Nix’s career took off. This past season, he threw for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions on 77.4% passing. He added six scores on the ground. Nix finished third in Heisman Trophy voting, just behind winner Jayden Daniels of LSU and Michael Penix Jr. of Washington.
Nix is one of three quarterbacks for the National Team, along with Penix and Sam Hartman of Notre Dame. All three have worked together this week to get up to speed quickly, making sure the offense runs without a hitch.
“You start, you get the playbook at the beginning of the week, and you go over it yourself,” Nix said. “You start learning some concepts and getting familiar with it. Then when I got here, we met as quarterbacks and we started going over it and talking through it, ‘how would you read this? How would I read this?’ And we went through it together and we just kind of collaboratively went together and put some things, put our brains together.”
