Boston College at SMU odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

The Boston College Eagles are travelling to Dallas to take on the SMU Mustangs next weekend. It’s a game that’s set to be a key matchup in the ACC Conference Championship race.
This is a new ACC matchup, with SMU now in just its first season in the conference. However, the two sides did meet as recently as last year. That was when the two played in the Fenway Bowl, with the Eagles coming out with a 23-14 win.
Ahead of this season’s matchup, circumstances are a bit different, with the Mustangs unbeaten in conference play. With that, SMU enters the game as a 15.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel. The over/under for the game is also set at 52.5 points.

With the Miami Hurricanes losing in Week 11, there’s only one ACC team left that hasn’t lost a conference game and that’s SMU. At 8-1 overall and 5-0 in ACC play, SMU is in control of its own destiny. Win out and the Mustangs will make the ACC Championship Game. Win that game and they’ll be in the College Football Playoff. Even getting to that game but losing would give the Mustangs a good argument to get into the Playoff.
Still, there are a few other ACC teams that are nipping at SMU’s heels, and stumbling in a game like this one could be costly for the Mustangs. So, for the time being, it’s important not to get ahead of themselves and take care of the task at hand.
Boston College isn’t an easy team to beat in its own right. The Eagles, in their first year under head coach Bill O’Brien, are one win away from getting to bowl eligibility. On top of that, they were able to beat a solid Syracuse team last week to snap their three-game losing streak. That was a losing streak marked by missed opportunities for Boston College. So, now, the Eagles will look to take advantage of their chance to upset SMU.
Kickoff is currently scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, November 16th.
