Brandon Jones wins Kansas pole, full NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying results

What a lap for Brandon Jones when he needs it most! Jones is only +8 points on the cutline, and a win today could change his season. Jones will be holding off a few hard chargers with NASCAR Playoffs drivers having mixed results in qualifying.
Brandon Jones and qualifying at Kansas, it’s like peanut butter and jelly. Three of the last four poles have gone to Jones in the Xfinity Series. He just feels comfortable up front.
Taylor Gray is right there with his JGR teammate in P2. Sam Mayer qualified P3. Then it was Butterbean Queen for Kauling in P4. Justin Allgaier rounded out the top-five.
Other notable results: Connor Zilisch P7, Rajah Caruth P8, Sheldon Creed P10, Jesse Love P12, Nick Sanchez P13, Sammy Smith P14. Austin Hill, Harrison Burton, and Carson Kvapil qualified P17, P18, and P19.
The last time Connor Zilisch qualified outside of the top-five was back at Indianapolis in the summer. He qualified P7 that day as well and went on to win the race.
We know that JGR is going to be good at this track. Aric Almirola won this race a year ago. Now, JGR has three cars in the top-six in qualifying and looks poised to make a lot of noise.
I’m very interested to see how the No. 11 and No. 17 cars factor in to today’s race. Queen and Caruth are capable of mixing it up and really challenging these playoff drivers. But I fully expect respectful racing from both on the track. Full qualifying results below:

The NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs will have a new look after tonight. Then, it comes down to the elimination race at the Roval. No one wants to go to that race having to win or pick up points.
Brandon Jones stepping up at Kansas again
While Brandon Jones hasn’t been a major headline maker this season, he has done well in his return to Joe Gibbs Racing. The win at Darlington showed that he can still get it done. In fact, he is racing at around the same level he was when he was at JGR in 2022.
There have been some good finishes for Jones lately as well. Top-10 finishes at Watkins Glen and Daytona, P4 at Gateway, and a P11 at Bristol. Going into Kansas, Jones should have all of the confidence he needs to compete for the win tonight.
Everyone knows that Connor Zilisch and Justin Allgaier are the top of the class. But making it to Phoenix is a win in and of itself. When you’re in the Championship 4, anything can happen. Even at a race track like Phoenix, it isn’t over until it’s over.
