Braxton Berrios has came into his own with the New York Jets, and 2022 could be a huge season for the former Miami wide receiver.

After finding his NFL footing last season, Berrios is in-line for a sizable role with the Jets this upcoming year. As he has since taking his talents to East Rutherford, the former Hurricanes pass catcher used his speed and athleticism to create a highlight reel play for the Jets on Sunday.

Check out Berrios taking a screen play that looks dead in the water for a touchdown against the New York Giants in their preseason showdown this afternoon.

As you can see, Berrios is dangerous as any with the football in his hands. Not only does he make his defender miss, but he outruns everyone else on the Giants defense on his way to the end zone. After the Jets gave the Giants the lead by virtue of a pick six, the shifty wide receiver tied the game back up.

Braxton Berrios will continue to gain popularity among Jets fans in 2022 with more plays like that, and it’s far from the last one he’ll make this season.

Meanwhile, Braxton Berrios is getting some help in the Jets’ wide receiving corps by virtue of former Ohio State star Garrett Wilson. Wilson was part of a three-headed monster in Ohio State’s receiving room last year, but he established himself firmly as a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Jets just made that a reality, selecting Wilson with the No. 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Per the On3 Consensus, Wilson an Austin, Texas native was ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2019 recruiting class and the No. 19 player overall in the country. He was rated five-stars.

Wilson began his collegiate career in 2019, hauling in 30 receptions for 432 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman at Ohio State. He then caught 43 passes for 723 yards and six touchdowns in 2020, also adding two rushes for 67 yards. This past season, Wilson caught 70 passes for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding four rushing attempts for 76 yards and one more touchdown.

Wilson also made an impact in the return game at Ohio State, returning 34 punts for 205 yards (six yards per return) in three seasons.

Now, Garrett Wilson will be looking to prove himself at the next level after hearing his name called on draft night.
