Brickyard 400: NASCAR throws caution for weather with 6 laps to go, Bubba Wallace leading

A shocking decision! NASCAR has thrown the caution for rain with six laps to go in the Brickyard 400 with Bubba Wallace leading. Rain in Turn 1 is going to set us up for a late restart, potentially overtime.
Bubba Wallace looked like he was going to drive off into the sunset for the win. Now he has to fight off Kyle Larson on a late restart if he wants to secure the Crown Jewel win.
The rain came down in Turns 1 and 2. A delay to clear the track off and get it dried will take place before the race goes to yellow and then back to green. It will be an overtime restart, and we will go until we get a green flag finish.
Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson. William Byron, Denny Hamlin. Those are the two front rows for the Brickyard 400, as we are going to go back to racing in a few minutes. This is a Crown Jewel race, everyone on the track wants to win it and kiss the bricks. It won’t be easy, though.
Last year, the race went to double overtime as Larson went on to win his first Brickyard 400. This year, he has a chance to do something similar. For Wallace, this could end up being the heartbreak of his career if he can’t close it out.

Brickyard 400: Bubba Wallace hoping to hold on
At this point in the race, everyone is saving fuel. No one can risk double overtime without pitting. However, we are likely to get chaos on the restart that leads to another caution. Larson wants another Brickyard win, Byron wants his first, Wallace wants his first, and Hamlin needs a win to complete his Crown Jewel collection.
The stakes are the highest they have been all day. Pushes are going to happen throughout the field on the restart. We are going to see what these drivers are willing to do to win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Meanwhile, Ty Gibbs has the In-Season Tournament locked up. Ty Dillon is multiple laps down, and the race is about to be over soon. We are going to see $1,000,000 go to Gibbs and his team after the five-week challenge.
