Brittany Force sets new insanely fast NHRA speed record at U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis

Earlier today in Indianapolis, Brittany Force once again set an NHRA speed record with her first round run in Top Fuel. U.S. Nationals has produced a few great moments already. Force got the day started today with a massive run at Lucas Oil IRP.
Going up against Ida Zetterstrom, Brittany Force was gone in the blink of an eye. 343.51 MPH for Force and her Top Fuel team. This is her 10th pass over 340 MPH this season alone. That is wild to think about.
Part-time NASCAR driver Presley Sorah was in the crowd for the U.S. Nationals. Check out Sorah’s view of Force’s massive run to set the new NHRA speed record.
John Force Racing has been through a lot since last season. John Force’s horrifying wreck and subsequent injuries put a dark cloud over this organization for a time. Thankfully, John is doing better, even if he likely will never race again.
To have moments like this not once but multiple times this season is special. It has to mean the world to Brittany Force, her father, and the entire JFR family. Force already owned the record before today, but beat it by almost another 4-tenths from 343.16 to 343.51.

The speed at which these dragsters go is unimaginable. It is so fast that you just have to see if for yourself. Even watching on TV or social media does little to give the viewer a proper feel for the sport.
Brittany Force takes record, Tony Stewart wins regular season
While Brittany Force put up a monster pass to set a new speed record this season, Tony Stewart was busy as well. He had to make a solid pass in the first round and did. For that, he has clinched the regular season championship going into the Countdown to the Championship.
Both racers compete in Top Fuel. They will be going head-to-head for a championship later this season. Smoke has proven once again that he can drive and win in anything you put him in. That includes championships.
Brittany Force is still putting up times and speeds that are unfathomable. For her to pass the 340 mark 10 times in one season is wild. To do it with six more events left on the schedule is another level of impressive. How much quicker can Force get that Top Fuel car? Catch the action on FS1 today as they show it on a tape-delay.
