TE Brock Bowers came out of the season-opening win this afternoon with an apparent injury to his knee. However, postgame, the Raiders’ tight end says he’s alright.

Per Tom Pelissero at the NFL Network, who spoke with him afterward in New England, Bowers says he was fine. That’s after taking a hit to the knee in the victory over the Patriots on Sunday.

“Just talked to #Raiders TE Brock Bowers and he says he’s fine,” Pelissero tweeted out this afternoon. “Took a little hit on the knee, came out to get checked out. No concerns moving forward.”

Bowers was reported as questionable to return with his knee injury. He then didn’t come back in after exiting in the third quarter.

Bowers opened his second season as the leading receiver in yardage for Las Vegas on their 20-13 win over New England in Foxborough. He had five receptions on eight targets for 103 yards, with a long of 38 yards while averaging out to 20.3 yards per catch, in the victory for the Raiders, which was his debut in catching passes from QB Geno Smith.

Bowers was a Pro Bowler and a First Team All-Pro for Las Vegas last season after being the No. 13 overall pick during the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He posted 112 receptions for 1,194 yards, averaging 70.2 per game and 10.7 per catch, with five touchdowns. That made him the leading receiver for the Raiders last season, while also being the leading tight end in all of the National Football League. That production also earned him second in voting for NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year behind only QB Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders.

Las Vegas went on to win by a score over New England this afternoon to open at 1-0. They did so in a debut of new head coaches with Pete Carroll taking over the Raiders and Mike Vrable leading his former team in the Patriots.

“Really important first day for us to get off and come from behind and win the game in the second half, and believe the whole way through that we were going to find a way,” said Carroll. “Really excited for our guys. We’ve worked really hard to get to this point, to get in that locker room and have that kind of fun, cheer on one another and all that. But, it was – east coast, you know. I don’t know. East coast? We don’t mind coming out here. So, we can keep that going.”

Bowers has over a week until Las Vegas’ second game in the division at home against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football. That gives Bowers an additional day to be ready to be back in the lineup by then, but with indications that he’ll be ready anyways as he could’ve potentially returned today.
