Brock Bowers injury update: Pete Carroll offers timeline of return for Las Vegas Raiders TE

Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll offered an update after tight end Brock Bowers left Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots with a knee injury. Bowers suffered the injury in the third quarter and did not return to the contest.
Speaking with reporters Monday, Carroll revealed that the tight end is considered “day-to-day.” He added that the longer week of preparation with the Raiders playing on Monday Night Football will give Bowers a bit more time to recover than usual.
“We’re just going day-to-day,” Carroll said. “Those guys are tough guys. They’re not gonna take the easy way out of this. They’re all gonna push to get right. These three days right now are really crucial. We got the day off today, tomorrow is workouts and then we have the Tuesday day off. That will be really crucial for us. I know the Chargers have that even more so with the break they have, but this will really help us and give us a chance.”
Prior to leaving Sunday’s game, Bowers recorded five catches for 103 yards. The Raiders hung on for a 20-13 victory in his absence to start the year off 1-0.
The injury occurred when Bowers took a big hit out of bounds on a 38-yard reception. The Fresno Bee reported that Bowers wanted to re-enter the game after suffering the injury but was told no by team trainers. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero spoke postgame with Bowers, who told him he was “fine.”

The Raiders selected Bowers with the 13th overall pick out of Georgia in the 2024 NFL Draft. He led Las Vegas in receiving with 112 catches for 1,194 yards — both rookie records — to go along with five touchdowns.
Once again, Bowers finished as the team’s leading receiver on Sunday despite not playing much of the second half. His availability will be key ahead of Monday night’s divisonal matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, who opened their season with a win against the Chiefs on Friday.
Based on the comments from Carroll and the earlier reports on Brock Bowers’ injury, it seems the tight end missing the rest of Sunday’s game was a precautionary measure. It sounds as if he avoided a serious injury and the extra day of preparation should likely be enough time for him to be ready to go in Week 2. Kickoff between the Raiders and Chargers is set for 10 p.m. ET on Monday in Las Vegas.
