The Brooklyn Nets have selected Danny Wolf with the No. 27 pick of the 2025 NBA Draft. The center played his college basketball for the Michigan Wolverines.

Wolf played his high school basketball at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts. Prior to that, he played at Lake Forest Academy in Illinois. He would go on to play internationally for the Israel National Team for the FIBA Under-20 European Championships. There, they’d go on to win a silver medal. For his part, Wolf had 17 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals in the title game. He’d average 17.7 points and 12.0 rebounds per game for the tournament.

In 2022, he began his college career at Yale where he would play two seasons for the Bulldogs. By his sophomore season with Yale, he was a consistent starter who would average an Ivy League best 9.7 rebounds per game for the season and would have 14 double-doubles.

Following his sophomore season with Yale, Danny Wolf made the decision to enter the Transfer Portal. At the time, he was ranked as a five-star recruit in his transfer class and the seventh-ranked player nationally. Eventually, he would land with the Michigan Wolverines.

In one season with Michigan, Wolf would play in and start 37 games for the Wolverines while averaging 30.5 minutes per game. Over the course of that time, he averaged 13.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He did that while averaging 49.7 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from three-point range, and 59.4 percent from the free throw line. On the defensive end, he had 1.1 blocks and 0.7 steals per game.

As a team, the Michigan Wolverines went 27-10 overall and 14-6 in Big Ten play. It was the first season for the program under head coach Dusty May, and it saw the Wolverines win the Big Ten Tournament. They’d then go on to make it to the Sweet Sixteen, before getting knocked out of the NCAA Tournament.

What NBA Draft experts are saying about Danny Wolf

Ahead of the NBA Draft, On3’s NBA Draft expert James Fletcher dove into several of the top prospects. That included Danny Wolf, who he feels showed good versatility leading into the NBA Draft.

“Danny Wolf comes to the professional ranks after making an interesting two-big lineup work in college,” Fletcher wrote. “The success of different jumbo lineups across the NBA could make him a valuable commodity for certain franchises looking to add frontcourt versatility. The ability to shoot and pass from the top of the key give immense offensive value, even if rim protector of guarding in space will never be his strength on defense.”
