For Bubba Wallace, Saturday is going to be busy. Of course, there’s the Bristol Night Race, but his Volunteers have a big game, too. Kickoff for Tennessee and Georgia football is at 3:30 PM ET. So, the NASCAR driver will have time to catch at least part of the game.

Bubba Wallace loves Tennessee Athletics. His mom was a Track & Field athlete at the university, and now Wallace is one of the many Volunteer faithful out there.

The Volunteers and Bulldogs have given college football fans great games in the past. Then there have been the blowouts. During media scrums at Bristol, Wallace was asked if his team had left time in his schedule for him to watch the game.

“I hope so!” Wallace exclaimed, laughing, via the Victory Lane Vibes podcast. “Then he mentioned what happened last year. “So, I can watch a little bit. I mean, last time I was at the Georgia game was last year, and we ran back the opening kickoff. That place was electric, and then we never scored again. So, as long as I can see the opening kickoff, I’ll be good. … Go Vols!”

Could the Volunteers give Bubba Wallace a boost tomorrow night? A big win over Georgia would set the tone for Wallace to perform at Bristol. While the Vols are underdogs, that’s how Bubba likes to operate as a driver. So, maybe there is a chance for Tennessee.

Meanwhile, Bristol is a place that Wallace has struggled with in the past. However, in this race a year ago, he was fantastic. The 23 team put together a complete weekend and finished P3 in the race. He has only two top-10 finishes at the track in his 12 starts at the track.

Bubba Wallace having strong NASCAR Playoffs run

Tomorrow night is elimination night in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Bristol always sets the stage for the first round eliminations, and it is going to be intense. Qualifying is going to be major for these teams. We also don’t know what kind of track and tire wear we will see from Bristol.

Bubba Wallace is looking good on points right now. He would have to have a catastrophic night at Bristol to see himself drop below the cutline. In the last eight races, Wallace has six top-10 finishes, including his win at the Brickyard 400. P6 and P8 to start the first two races of the playoffs, and Wallace is sitting comfortably.

At +50 points, depending on how the stages go, Wallace could clinch his spot in the next round before the race is over. Let’s see how qualifying goes, and then we will have a clearer picture of what these drivers have to do on Saturday night.
