Bubba Wallace reacts to Dale Earnhardt Jr. take on Kansas turmoil with Denny Hamlin

This week, the talk about Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin at Kansas has dominated the media cycle. That includes podcasts and more. Wallace has heard some of it, and he had a few things to say today regarding the NASCAR Playoff race last week.
Clearly, Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin had to have a talk. The two got into each other, with Hamlin really initiating the contact, and they lost the race.
In fact, it was a total collapse. Toyota had the first five spots on the final restart locked up. They somehow let Chase Elliott in a Chevy slip on by on the inside line to steal the win.
Bubba Wallace spoke to the media today at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He mentioned another prominent voice in the NASCAR world when discussing his feelings about the Kansas finish.
“I think Dale [Earnhardt Jr.] said it, I have every right to be pissed off about it, right? My biggest thing was, Toyota didn’t win. Before I left my motorhome after the race, you know, I text Toyota rep to apologize that we didn’t win. We had five in the top five to take the green flag there on the last restart, none of us won. I just told Chase, you know, we alley-ooped that for him. He appreciated it.

“It was all the people that got affected, that’s where my frustration came from. Because I felt like I was stepping up for them. While the conversation went really well, the pain is still there a little bit. But it definitely eased it. I appreciate Denny’s comments. Never want him to back down in any scenario, but I didn’t get a chance to see the rest of the corner. So, yeah, that sucks.”
Clearly, the finish at Kansas did not help Bubba Wallace at all. He went from possibly winning his way into the next round to being -26 to the cutline. That’s a massive swing.
If Wallace finds a way to advance to the next round, it will be a borderline miracle. The 23XI Racing driver has a daunting task ahead of him today. He has to take stage points and, honestly, might have to win the race to advance. That is likely not going to happen.
Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin talked things over. Let’s see how that translates to the racing on the track.
