Buffalo Bills DC Leslie Frazier to step away from coaching in 2023, plans to return in 2024

Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier is stepping away from coaching in 2023, the Bills announced Tuesday. He plans on returning in 2024, though, according to the announcement.
Frazier just wrapped up his sixth season as the Bills’ defensive coordinator and the third as assistant head coach. He garnered plenty of interest in head coaching circles during the 2022 cycle as he helped turn Buffalo into one of the best defenses in the league.
Before arriving in Buffalo, Frazier was the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings from 2011-13, where he had a 21-32-1 record before his firing. He then became the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defensive coordinator from 2014-15 and spent 2016 with the Baltimore Ravens before heading to Buffalo.
Last season, the Bills ranked sixth in the NFL in yards allowed per game, holding teams to 319.1 yards per contest.

Johnson replaced Shane Steichen, who left to take the head coaching position with the Indianapolis Colts. He just finished his second year as quarterbacks coach with the Eagles after spending time as the Florida Gators offensive coordinator.
Johnson has a close relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts and was a huge part of his development over the last two seasons.
“Eagles are promoting their QB coach Brian Johnson to offensive coordinator to replace new Colts’ HC Shane Steichen, per sources,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “Johnson had multiple opportunities for other OC jobs, but he ultimately stays with the Eagles.”
Johnson played quarterback at the Utah but went undrafted in 2009. He played for the New York Sentinels in 2009 in the United Football League but pivoted to coaching in 2010 with Utah as the quarterbacks coach.
