Former USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams opened up about the people who criticized his father for how he handles things related to his son. Williams talked about the relationship he has with his father, Carl while appearing on The Pivot Podcast.

“Him and I talk and we have grown man talks about anything and everything,” Williams said while mentioning the different topics they talk about including family and football. “We have real talks. We don’t shy and hide from each other. It’s my guy, it’s my dog. To have those real grown man talks is really important in our relationship.

“We have those talks about all of it and it does us a great job because it also helps us keep all of us on the same path, same page, same track because that’s the most important thing. The cliche thing is if you don’t have those people saying things, if you don’t have people speaking on you, if you don’t have whether it’s good or bad of possibly going number one or something stupid that comes up in social media.”

Williams continued: “If you don’t have those things then you really ain’t doing something. If you go and look I got something probably every day right now. To look at those things in that lens, it makes things a lot easier to deal with. There’s no extra pressure at it because I know who I am, I know how hard I work. I know what I like, I know what I don’t like. I know the people around me and you take the emotion out of it and you look at it from a different way you deal with it that way.”

Caleb Williams knows how he can lead Bears to a Super Bowl

Williams is projected to be drafted by the Chicago Bears at No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s looking forward to helping the Bears win a Super Bowl and knows how he will do it.

“One is through my care, one for football, one for my teammates but also something I’ve done myself is community-wise bringing the whole landscape together,” Williams said. “I did it at [Gonzaga College], I’ve done it here at USC. We’ve sold out games here at USC and that hasn’t been done in a couple years, bringing the fans back, bringing the love and joy.

Williams enters the NFL after having a successful career at USC. In two seasons, Williams threw 72 touchdowns and won the Heisman Trophy in 2022.
