Cam Skattebo fires back at critics of WWE Raw fight amid ankle injury

“WWE Raw” on Monday took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Celebrities and athletes in attendance there were plenty, but only one got directly involved in the action: New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo.
Skattebo was part of a brawl against The Judgment Day, less than a month removed from undergoing season-ending surgery. While the moment went viral, some weren’t pleased to see Skattebo taking a potential risk. Tuesday, he fired back at his critics.
“Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on,” Skattebo wrote on X. “I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life, so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.”
Cam Skattebo played a role in WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden
Skattebo was sitting in the front row alongside some of his Giants teammates and comedian Andrew Schulz. He was approached by JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day, who began talking smack in Skattebo’s face. Skattebo couldn’t let McDonagh get that close without doing something, so he shoved McDonagh to the floor. That ignited a brawl between the professional wrestling faction and Skattebo’s group.

Skattebo showed up to Raw wearing a New York Rangers Matt Rempe jersey, so you know he was ready for a fight. Skattebo appeared to be completely fine after the brawl.
New York is counting on Skattebo to be ready to roll in 2026 after an exciting start to his NFL career. Skattebo’s shortened rookie campaign ended with 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns in just eight games. He also hauled in 24 passes for 207 yards and two additional scores. Skattebo sent out a message to Giants fans after undergoing successful surgery.
“Thank you everyone for the support!!” Skattebo wrote. “Surgery went well. I just want to thank the city of Philly for taking the best care of me. Every moment I spent in the hospital with family and friends I felt loved and supported in every way … thank you to the doctors, surgeons, and staff that did their best work on me. This is just the beginning of my journey, and I can’t wait to show you guys all about it!!! GOD has a plan for me, stick the course and it will all work itself out, BRB.”
