So much for all of the talk the Arizona Cardinals (1-2) were tanking and intentionally inserting themselves into the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. Josh Dobbs apparently didn’t get the memo Sunday, and responded by leading the Cardinals to a 28-16 victory over the Dallas Cowboys (2-1) in Week 3.

Not only did Dobbs and the Cardinals come out on top, but the 28-year-old quarterback woke up the next day in a trolling mood. Ahead of the game, Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons said he was putting Dobbs on a “bulletin board” and “throwing darts” at him. Dobbs responded via a TikTok, dodging actual darts before giving a “Go Cards” to the camera.

Dobbs certainly did plenty of dodging of the perennial All-Pro, who finished with two tackles and one sack. Beyond avoiding pressure from Parsons and co., the journeyman signal-caller was efficient in the pass game, completing 17-of-21 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. He added six carries for 55 yards on the ground.

It was a full-circle moment for Dobbs, whose first-career NFL start came against the Cowboys last season when he was with the Tennessee Titans.

“It was a tremendous full-circle moment because it feels like yesterday, man, I was getting ready for my first start on Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys [last season with the Tennessee Titans],” Dobbs said after the game. “So, yeah, it was a great full-circle moment and so it was good to take a moment to enjoy it.”

Josh Dobbs outplays Dak Prescott in Week 3 win

As for the Cowboys, it’s a significant step back for a team which started the season off hot and had surrendered just 10 total points through two games. Whereas Dobbs shined, Dak Prescott did not. The Cowboys quarterback completed 25-of-40 passes for 249 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The interception came late in the fourth quarter, with Dallas looking to pull back within one possession.

Prescott called the defeat “humbling.”

“Y’all put us on top of the world,” Prescott said. “We knew who we are. In that same sense, I’m sure the media got what it wanted. For us, there hadn’t been but one undefeated team. It sucks, it’s humbling, but to say it’s a wake-up call, we knew we had a lot of adversity and we just didn’t get it done. It just goes back to myself, the offense, in the red zone. We get better there, we win this game. But we’ve got to fix that area, period.”
