The Carolina Panthers are getting ready for their Week 2 road trip to Arizona to take on the Cardinals. There, the Panthers are hoping to bounce back from a difficult opener to the season. Ahead of that, both teams have shared their latest injury reports.

Going into Week 2, the biggest question for Carolina is whether or not left tackle Ikem Ekwonu is going to see the field. Throughout the week, he’s been limited in practice. That’s coming off a recent appendectomy that he underwent. Luckily, he will be able to suit up against Arizona.

There is plenty of anticipation for the Panthers and Cardinals game this Sunday. Ahead of that game, here’s a list of players who have been named inactive for both teams.

Panthers:

WR: Jimmy Horn Jr.
OT: Yosh Nijman
WR: Dalevon Campbell
TE: James Mitchell
DT: Tershawn Wharton

Cardinals:

WR: Xavier Weaver
CB: Elijah Jones
LB: Xavier Thomas
LB: Cody Simon
TE: Tip Reiman
OL: Will Hernandez

The trenches are the biggest injury concern for Carolina. The Panthers were waiting to see on left tackle Ikem Ekwonu. However, going into the day on Sunday, the Panthers knew that they were going to be without defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton. He’s battling a hamstring issue.

Six other Panthers had appeared on the injury report at the end of the week. However, those came without an injury designation at the time. It’s a group that included defensive back Akayleb Evans (illness), right guard Robert Hunt (foot), outside linebacker Pat Jones III (ankle), left guard Damien Lewis (shoulder/ankle), wide receiver Hunter Renfrow (ribs), and defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson (groin).

As for the Arizona Cardinals, they have their own questions on the interior. On Friday, offensive lineman Will Hernandez was listed as questionable. That’s an upgrade from last week, when he was out. At that point, only two players had been ruled entirely for their Week 2 game. That included tight end Tip Reiman and linebacker Cody Simon.

The Carolina Panthers opened their season with a bad road loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. In that game, quarterback Bryce Young struggled with two interceptions. Then, on the defensive side of the ball, the Panthers gave up 6.0 yards per play. For their part, the Cardinals opened the season with a road win against the New Orleans Saints. Both offenses struggled in that game, and the Cardinals struggled throwing the ball, holding off the Saints at the end.

The Panthers and Cardinals are set to meet at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Sunday. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 4:05 p.m. EST.
