The Carolina Panthers travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey, to take on the New York Giants on Sunday. The Panthers have their injuries, but they may count themselves lucky compared to the amount the Giants have piled up.

As Carolina looks for a much-needed victory, so are the shorthanded Giants. When New York takes the field, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney won’t be there.

The Panthers haven’t played the Giants since 2018 — a game that ended with an epic game-winning field goal from Graham Gano as time expired. Sunday, the longtime kicker of the Panthers is now the kicker for the Giants, facing his former team for the first time with New York.

Moreover, Panthers coach Matt Rhule is facing the Giants for the first time in his career. Many theorized that Rhule would be the Giants coach when he was interviewing, but the Panthers stole his heart away from New York.

Last weekend, the Panthers lost in heart-breaking fashion to the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, it was the team’s third straight loss. As the Giants are also mired in a skid, one of these teams will break the wheel today.

The Giants are missing many important players, but who won’t be on the field for the Panthers? Here’s the Carolina Panthers injury report for today’s game.

Carolina Panthers Inactives:

LB Shaq Thompson

WR Terrace Marshall Jr.

FB Giovanni Ricci

T Cameron Erving

DT Phil Hoskins

DE Darryl Johnson

CB Rashaan Melvin

As you can see, the Panthers will be hurting on the defensive side of the football. Unfortunately, Rhule’s squad will be without linebacker Shaq Thompson due to a foot injury.

Additionally, wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. won’t be able to show off his stuff today. He’s out with a concussion, but the Panthers hope to get him back soon.
