The Carolina Panthers (1-6) have released their inactives list ahead of the Week 9 home tilt against the Indianapolis Colts (3-5) Sunday.

Carolina will once again be without both their starting safeties as Vonn Bell is inactive for the third straight game. Bell, sidelined with a quadriceps injury, logged three limited practices this week. He was listed as doubtful, however, and rookie Alex Cook will get the start in his place.

With safety Jeremy Chinn on injured reserve, rookie safety Jammie Robinson could continue to see more playing time. The fifth-round pick out of Florida State has steadily seen his snap count increase in recent weeks, playing 12 snaps in the 15-13 Week 8 victory over the Houston Texans. Robinson made the most of his time on the field, recording six tackles (three solo).

A versatile player, Robinson has a chance to carve out a role in the Panthers’ defense as the season continues.

“That’s one thing about me, just being able to be versatile,” Robinson said this week. “And also God giving me the strength and ability to learn different calls, different positions, and being able to go out and put the talent on the field. …

“Just being able to be a puzzle piece that can fit in any part of the puzzle. And that’s what I pride myself on, just being able to learn everything, know all the positions in the secondary.”
