Carson Hocevar wins first career pole at Texas, full Cup Series qualifying results

Ride the Dente! Carson Hocevar is on the pole for the first time in his young NASCAR Cup Series career and he does it at Texas. Hocevar has to earn this one, Texas is not a track you just run wide open at and end up with P1.
Carson Hocevar has been close to the front this season. His qualifying efforts have been greatly improved, and so has Spire Motorsports as a whole.
Coming off his P6 finish at Talladega, Hocevar has momentum. He shares the front row with William Byron tomorrow when the green flag drops. Big milestone for this young driver.
At 22 years old, Carson Hocevar is now the youngest pole winner ever in the Cup Series at Texas. It shows just how much raw speed he has as a driver. Spire wanted him in 2024, went out and got him, and it has paid off up to this point.
Hocevar has his Rookie of the Year award, he has a pole, and now he needs to go out and get that first career win. If he did it at Texas of all places, it would be a massive statement early in his career.
Full qualifying results below. A few surprising names in the top-10.
I was very surprised to see how poorly Tyler Reddick did in qualifying. His teammate, Bubba Wallace, put up a top-10 performance. Ty Gibbs and Denny Hamlin had quick Toyota Camrys for the qualifying session.
Spire Motorsports had to have figured something out about qualifying from Michael McDowell and crew chief Travis Peterson. When two came over from Front Row Motorsports after last season, it seemingly improved qualifying across the organization.

Carson Hocevar checks off first career pole
NASCAR fans are dying for two things: an exciting race and a young superstar. Why not knock off both of those in one weekend? Carson Hocevar has the potential to give Cup Series viewers a show on Sunday and the promise of the next great star.
Hocevar is known for his aggressive racing style. He does things differently on the track than other drivers. He isn’t always running the same lines, and he definitely has never seen a hole in the field he can’t fill.
What would really be great is to see not only Hocevar but Ty Gibbs have a great race. Let’s get these two drivers battling for the win and testing one another for who is going to be the next young star to break through in the sport. Eventually, something has to give.
With that Chili’s No. 77, Carson Hocevar is ready to spice things up. Will he be earning another career first on Sunday?
