There’s never a drama-free moment in Cowboys training camp. So add another chapter, A Dallas insider hinted Friday that the reason why negotiations seemingly have stalled with CeeDee Lamb is because his agent spent the past week in Paris watching the Olympics.

Clarence Hill, who covers the Cowboys for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, shared some info on social media early Friday in regards to Lamb.

Hill wrote on X: “For the early morning risers, what if I told you CeeDee Lamb’s agent has been in Paris at the Olympics for the last week and just got back. Per league sources. Jerry Jones was wrong in making a joke about not having a sense of urgency. But everyone needs to relax. I’m going back to sleep.”

As Cowboys preseason schedule starts, Lamb is on day 17 of his training camp holdout

If you haven’t heard, Lamb is sitting out training camp until he receives an contract offer that meets his demands. He reportedly wants to be the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. That would mean he is demanding a record-breaking deal for an NFL receiver. Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson is the highest paid non-QB and he holds the record with the biggest contract for his position. He agreed to a four-year, $140 million deal earlier this summer. The average annual salary is $35 million.

Lamb’s holdout, as of Friday, extends to 17 days with the Cowboys set to open their preseason schedule this Sunday. On Thursday after practice, Jones met with reporters in Oxnard, Calif. One asked the Cowboys owner whether he was feeling urgency to get a deal done now that the team will start playing games.

“I don’t have a sense of urgency of getting it done,” Jones said. “Give any reason you want.”

Lamb saw a tweet with Jones’ quote. He shared it with his followers, adding an LOL.

The Cowboys are hanging out in SoCal this weekend. They’re playing the Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, which is a short, 60-mile trip from their Oxnard training camp. The Cowboys and Rams have conducted joint practices this week.

Meanwhile, the team released it’s first depth chart of the season. You can check it here. And yes, Lamb is on it.
