CeeDee Lamb fined $25,324 for unsportsmanlike conduct penalties vs. Giants

CeeDee Lamb got one the scoresheet for the Dallas Cowboys last Thursday against the New York Giants, enjoying a long touchdown pass from Dak Prescott. He may have enjoyed the moment too much, drawing a taunting penalty on himself for the celebration. Dallas was assessed a 15-yard penalty during the game and now, more punishment has come in.
The NFL has fined Lamb over $25,000 for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, one of which was the taunt. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported the news on Saturday afternoon. A hefty chunk of change for someone who just received a historic contract extension from the Cowboys.
“The NFL fined #Cowboys star WR CeeDee Lamb $25,324 for two unsportsmanlike conduct violations last week — including taunting on his touchdown,” Pelissero said via X.
The second part of Lamb’s fine came before getting his touchdown, being one of his first quarter receptions. After picking up the first down, the Cowboys receiver let the people know but used some finger guns to get there.
The gesture was enough to be worth $14,069 of the fine, being deemed an “unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture.”

Lamb finished the game with a nice performance, catching seven of the eight passes thrown his way for 98 yards and a touchdown. There has not been a 100-yard performance yet from the star wide receiver and he was incredibly close against the NFC East rivals.
Next up is an important matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, another one slated to be played on primetime. NBC will have the broadcast for Sunday Night Football as Mike Terico, Chris Collinsworth, and Kathryn Tappen will be on the call. Two traditional brands in the league should make for a fun one.
Besides getting on the flight back home with a win, Lamb might be hoping to keep the entirety of his game check and keep his money away from the NFL.
