Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed the chances of wide receiver CeeDee Lamb playing against the Green Bay Packers. While speaking to reporters on Monday, Schottenheimer gave an update on Lamb, who suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears.

“Going to miss some time,” Brian Schottenheimer said, per Cowboys beat reporter Joseph Hoyt. “Probably unlikely he’ll play this week, but we’ll see.”

Todd Archer of ESPN reported that CeeDee Lamb could miss three to four weeks with a high left ankle sprain. After the Bears game on Sunday, Lamb told reporters the injury is “absolutely” something he could play through. He had an MRI on the ankle on Monday morning.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones appeared on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas and shared an update on Lamb. “I think we’ve got to evaluate the full thing and see how he’s moving around as the day goes. Certainly, he’s got a high ankle sprain, and every one of those are different,” Jones said. “We’d love to have him back for Green Bay, but at the same time, we also got to understand the injury is what it is, and we’ll play it out.”

CeeDee Lamb is off to a great start to the 2025 season

Lamb suffered the injury with 8:34 remaining in the first quarter when Bears linebacker Noah Sewell landed on the back of his legs while trying to make a tackle. Lamb missed the next 14 snaps before briefly returning in the second quarter. The Cowboys’ medical staff then held him out after he was seen limping while going in motion during the first play in the quarter.

Not having Lamb in the lineup for the Packers game would be a significant blow for the Cowboys, who are now 1-2 on the year. In the first two games of the season, the former Oklahoma star has caught 16 passes for 222 yards. Lamb is in his sixth season with the Cowboys and is coming off a 2024 season where he caught 101 passes for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns.
