CeeDee Lamb injury update: Cowboys WR reveals comfort level with ankle

The Dallas Cowboys have spent the past three games without star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. An ankle injury vs. the Chicago Bears meant Lamb watched from the sideline. However, Dallas never put him on injured reserve, meaning he could return within a month.
Now, the plan seems to be coming to fruition. Lamb appears to be on track to play Sunday against the Washington Commanders. It’s all about comfort at this point, something Lamb feels good about a few days into the practice week.
“I feel like I’m moving around, running around, being me,” Lamb said via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “Happy as can be obviously just believing in my ankle. Obviously, I feel like it’s back to where I needed it to be.”
Archer added that Lamb felt like he could have played in the Carolina game if needed. But the Cowboys decided to hold him out of an abundance of caution.
Quarterback Dak Prescott did not miss too much of a beat without his top weapon. The offseason trade for George Pickens turned good early in the season, establishing himself as a real threat. If needed, the Cowboys would feel good about rolling him out of there as the main guy.

That said, who does not want to add another elite receiver back into the lineup? Prescott sure is excited to get No. 88 back, only adding to what’s been one of the NFL’s top offenses.
“I think if CeeDee doesn’t get hurt, GP’s probably just going to be an outside receiver for the most part,” Prescott said Thursday via Archer. “Having him move around, him having those games, showing his ability, showing what he can do, showing not only how he relishes (it) with him getting more opportunities, but him asking more responsibility, you’re going to have to figure out where both of them are. Having the ability to have two guys like that and just put them wherever we feel each and every play, it’s going to be beneficial to us.”
In three games played, Lamb has 16 catches on 24 targets, going for 222 yards. He is still searching for his first touchdown of the season. For now, Pickens is the team’s leading receiver with 525 yards and an impressive five scores. If Lamb gets back to full health in time for Sunday, we will get another look at the dynamic duo again vs. the Commanders.
