Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb did not hold back when talking about how he played in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Lamb said he has lost sleep over the drops he had in the 24-20 loss.

“I wouldn’t rather nobody else but myself be in those situations. I came up short once. We’ll see the rest,” CeeDee Lamb said, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “Trust me, I’ve thought about it, I’ve dwelled on it. I’ve done everything that you could possibly imagine about this game. For all those that feel like they feel worse about that game than me, you’re absolutely wrong.”

Per Next Gen Stats, Lamb had two drops in the season opener, but they came in the fourth quarter. The first was a third-down pass from quarterback Dak Prescott, which went right through Lamb’s hands and hit his helmet. On the final drive, Lamb got open for a potential game-changing play, but the ball slid through his hands.

CeeDee Lamb took ‘full accountability’ for drops against Eagles

“Man, that was terrible,” Lamb said after the game, via the team’s official website. “I can’t point fingers at anybody else. I take full accountability and everything else that comes with that. As a player, I’ve prayed for moments like that, and for the ball to come my way. To not come up with it, it stings a little bit.”

“Don’t worry about CeeDee Lamb,” Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said. “CeeDee’s going to be fine. What a great player. This was a team defeat, and we own that. We understand where we can go as a football team. We understand. I love the competition. I thought guys competed their butts off. I thought that was great, but we’re all about winning, and we didn’t win tonight, and therefore it’s not good enough.”

Lamb might be upset with the two drops, but he had a strong performance against the defending Super Bowl champions. The 26-year-old caught seven passes for 110 yards, and those totals led all receivers. Lamb is coming off a 2024 season, where he caught 101 passes for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games.
